Brazilian cellist Amanda Melo Massa is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in cello performance at the Federal University of Paraíba (Brazil), supported by the CAPES Foundation, under the supervision of Dr. Felipe Avellar de Aquino. Amanda holds a Master’s degree in cello performance from the same institution, also supported by the CAPES Foundation. In 2018, she was awarded a full scholarship for a two-year performance specialization at Nicholls State University (USA) in the studio of Prof. Dennis Parker. As an active orchestra and chamber musician, Amanda performed as a member of the Paraiba Symphony Orchestra (2015, 2018) and Nicholls Camerata (2018-2020). She is currently a member of the cello section at Municipal Symphony Orchestra of João Pessoa, Brazil, and serves as a cello professor for PRIMA – the Paraíba State Government’s Program for Inclusion through Music and the Arts. In 2022, Amanda was awarded second prize in the International Classic Web Competition from the Associazione Musicale Dioniso – Italy.
